Which Bank cards work

Modified on Mon, 6 May at 11:26 AM

An important point here is that we Do Not have access to, or store, your card details anywhere on our system. We only store the secure token that can only be used on your profile and only on orders placed by your profile.

We do not have access to your account number! So if you cancel your card or if it expires - you will need to register your replacement card.

PayJustNow accepts South African Bank issued cards only. The account you intend to use needs to be enabled for online transactions, and these days you can check that in your bank App. Please check that you have enabled a daily transaction limit to cover at least the value of your instalment.

Standard Bank

Standard bank issued cards that begin with 519612 are not provisioned for online transactions

If the payment is taking a while to confirm, please check that you have not received an SMS from the bank asking for confirmation that you are making the payment. You may need to confirm with the Std bank fraud division that it is you making the payment.

Capitec

You may need to increase your online daily limit and Scan to pay permanent limits. Update it to an amount higher than your instalment, and you should be able to make a successful payment.

See this article for more information. Daily limits in the Capitec Bank App

Tyme bank

Based on our data, we've noticed a higher risk of payment default for customers using the same card as yours. Often, this happens because the card's issuing account is NOT the customer's primary transaction account.

For instance, if your salary isn't paid into your Tyme bank account, but your repayment schedule is tied to your pay day, your payment could fail. This could lead to potential bank charges due to debit rejection, along with possible late fees if your account isn't credited before our debit attempt 24 hours later.

As a result, we only offer 1 instalment to 1st time transactions that are using a Tyme bank card. If your salary does get settled to your Tyme bank account - please email support@payjustnow.com with 3 months statements showing the salary payments, and we will enable your profile for 3 instalments.

If your Tyme bank is NOT where you get your salary paid, we prefer you to register your primary bank card on your profile. This should be the account where your salary is deposited and one that you actively use for transactions.

Please be aware, sharing cards can also lead to the same issue, so we encourage you to register with your own account.

If you're able to register a card from your primary account, and it's not linked to another profile, we'll extend your repayment schedule to 3 instalments! And the best part, you won't need to be added to a safe list.

Post Bank

This bank does not support online recurring payments. please use an alternate card.
