Missed Payment – Frequently Asked Questions

Modified on Tue, 29 Sep at 2:43 PM

What happens after a missed payment?

If your PayJustNow payment was unsuccessful, don’t worry — there are a few things you can do to get your account back on track.

We will automatically retry the payment within 24 hours.

Before the payment is retried, please make sure that:

  • Your card details are correct and up to date.
  • Your card is enabled for online purchases.
  • Your online transaction limit is high enough for the payment.
  • There are sufficient funds available in your nominated bank account.

Making sure these details are correct can help you avoid late payment fees.

Want to make your payment now?

You don't have to wait for the automatic retry. You can log in and make your payment at any time.

Frequently asked questions

Can I move my payment date?

No. Your payment date is set when your account is opened and cannot be changed while you have an open instalment plan.

We recommend making sure you have sufficient funds available on your scheduled payment date.

I didn't have enough funds available, but I do now. Can you retry the payment?

Yes. We will automatically retry the payment within 24 hours.

Alternatively, you can log in and make your payment manually at any time.

We also send an email the day before we're due to collect a payment. It's a good idea to check that you have enough funds available ahead of your scheduled payment date to help avoid late payment fees.

Is it always one instalment per month?

Not necessarily.

Depending on when you made your purchase and your designated payment date, you may have two instalments collected in the same month.

For example, if you make a purchase within 5 days of your designated payment date, more than one instalment may be due in the same calendar month.

We recommend checking the instalment dates shown at checkout before approving your purchase.

I don't have funds available right now and can only pay next month. Can I set up a payment arrangement?

No. We are currently unable to offer payment arrangements.

If you're able to make the payment, you can log in and pay manually at any time.

Why was a payment taken now? I think I was charged twice.

In some cases, seeing more than one payment in the same month is correct.

If your purchase was made within 5 days of your designated payment date, you may have two instalments due in the same calendar month.

We recommend checking the instalment dates provided at checkout when you approve a purchase.

If you believe a payment has been taken incorrectly or you see a genuine error, our team can investigate this for you.

Why did you take the full purchase price instead of splitting it into 3 equal instalments?

Not every purchase is necessarily split into three equal instalments.

The instalment structure available to you can depend on our assessment of your account and applicable policies.

Maintaining a good payment history, making payments on time and keeping your account in good standing can help us continue to review your eligibility for future consumer spend.

How can I avoid missing a payment?

To help avoid unsuccessful payments and potential late payment fees:

  1. Check that your card details are correct.
  2. Make sure your card is enabled for online purchases.
  3. Check that your online transaction limit is high enough.
  4. Make sure sufficient funds are available in your nominated bank account before your scheduled payment date.
  5. Check the instalment dates shown at checkout before approving a purchase.

If you've already missed a payment, you can log in and pay now rather than waiting for the automatic retry.
