Why don't I have a spend limit?

We factor a number of data points in our decision engine. There are 2 main factors that influence the scoring.


  1. We were unable to verify your identity.
  2. Our decision engine returned with a high creditor risk result.


Identity


Protecting your Identity and personal records are our primary concern. We understand that Identity theft is the 1st line of consumer fraud. And so it is a non-negotiable factor with us. When you sign up, we ask you to fill in your name as per your South African issued ID document. During your signup flow when you submit your Name and ID number we make a data call to the department of Home Affairs to verify the records you submitted. 


Credit Profile


Perhaps check your credit score and make sure that you don't have any adverse listings. As a consumer you are entitled to access your credit profile free of charge once a year, and if you disagree with any data reflecting on your credit report, you can appeal the listing directly with the bureau you used.


If it is simply that you have no credit history, please let us know, and we will attempt to re-score your application.


General conditions


You may only use the Payment Services if you are 18 (eighteen) years and older. By agreeing to the Agreement and using the Services, you confirm that you:


5.6.1. have a valid bank Card issued in your name;


5.6.2. are a permanent resident of South Africa, or lawfully reside in South Africa;


5.6.3. are permanently employed or self-employed;


5.6.4. have not applied for or are not currently over-indebted, under debt counselling or subject to debt review;


5.6.5. have not been declared mentally unfit or ill by a court, or under administration or provisional or final sequestration.
